CEEA Workshop Kicks Off Second Online Module
From April 19 – 24, thirty two film professionals will participate in the second online module of the year-long training programme CEE Animation Workshop. The programme will traditionally offer a large scale of group works, individual sessions with tutors and lectures on various themes led by international experts. The focus of the second module will be film production development.
Phil Parker, one of our regular script advising collaborators will give a lecture on writing TV series. Phil is one of leading European content development consultants – his productions include Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit and Terry Prachett’s Hogfather. Among others, he wrote the animated feature Gentle Jacko with David Tousek, one of our CEEA Workshop alumni.
The participants will also closely work with the visual development advisor Éva Katinka Bognár. She is currently the head of the animation MA programme at MOME and working as an art director on Gelley Bálint’s Door to Othertown animated series.
The producers will gain resourceful knowledge on budgeting and the law system in the film industry. Ole Wendorff-Østergaard will focus on building the financial plan and the SWOT analysis of the project. While Ulrich Michel, leading expert for media law and intellectual property will explain legal aspects of film production.
The company culture is the heartbeat of a company. How to build it and care about the work environment will be explained by Alba Sotorra. EAVE graduate, she is the founder of the production company Alba Sotorra SL. Motivated by the lack of diversity of points of view in cinema, she seeks for stories told from a gender-conscious perspective, especially those directed by women with a strong personal connection to the subject of their films.
Gisela Schäffer from the animation production company WunderWerk will share how to lay down good practices with your co producers. Gisela developed, financed and produced several TV Series like Tilda Appleseed, Henrietta, The Wild Soccer Bunch. Also feature films like The Ogglies and Yakari were realized under her management.
From the early development of the project, the creatives should start thinking about the marketing of the audiovisual work. The preparation of the communication strategy needs to follow various rules and one of our experts Boris Pugnet will describe this important phase. Boris works now as an editor for trailers and marketing consultant for producers and distributors, from development to release.
CEE Animation Workshop is organised with the support of Creative Europe – MEDIA Programme of the European Union.
