Gisela Schäfer started working in the film business in 1992, having been practicing in theaters as director’s assistant before.
She had her first contact with animation in 1994. There was an idea that could not be produced in live action and the producers decided to realize this project in an-imation instead. The adventure began ... From then the company’s animation business expanded more and more under her leadership. TV-Series and feature films were created and financed. The projects were mostly realized with service studios in the beginning. Step by step an own studio was built up and in 2009 the anima-tion production company WunderWerk was founded.There Gisela Schäfer was responsible for finding brands, developing new content and financing the projects. Within WunderWerk she developed, financed and produced several TV Series like TILDA APPLESEED, HENRIETTA, THE WILD SOCCER BUNCH. Also feature films like THE OGGLIES and YAKARI were realized under her management.In Europe she co-produced with Italy, France, Belgium and Luxembourg, among others. Internationally she realized productions with partners in India, Singapore, Malaysia, etc.
