The Rabbit-Shaped Dog

A nyúlformájú kutya

A cartoon rabbit who feels like a dog. A world locked in a movie. Questions about ourselves and the world.

Our story follows a rabbit who is essentially a dog inside and is aware that they live in an animated film. Their questions revolve around identity, existence, and the nature of the Creator. They cannot find their place in their own world, feeling like a messed-up drawing. The rabbits are afraid of them, and the dogs chase them. They realize that nothing in this world is as it seems: they meet an elephant who feels small and a mouse who imagines themselves as a giant. By the end of the story, they find the company of three other similarly “messed-up” creatures. Although they do not fully understand each other, a form of communication gradually emerges between them. The film sensitively reflects on social differences, gender identity, and generational gaps, while raising universal questions: Who are we, and how can we connect with each other?

Director’s statement
This film presents the world from a uniquely narrow perspective — through the eyes of a creature with the body of a rabbit but the soul of a dog. Our film follows the inner monologue of this unique being as it navigates an identity crisis, struggling to find meaning and belonging.
This is a story for Generation Z, where the quest for authenticity, self-expression, and freedom takes center stage. Through absurd and often witty encounters, the protagonist attempts to engage in dialogue with both their creator and fellow creatures, seeking answers to fundamental questions about their place in the world.
More than just an animated film, this project is a philosophical journey into the themes of identity, existence, and self-acceptance. While we speak directly to young adults, we believe the universal message will resonate with audiences of all ages.
