Holy Moly

Holy Moly

A poetic film about the loneliness of unbearable loss

In a tunnel under ground Moly is looking for his friend, but finds him dead. Moly is shocked and in great pain. The funeral happens too fast. As a panic attack is approaching, all sounds are amplified in his fragile ears. Moly needs to get away, and crawls to the surface. Above ground the bright light hurts Moly, but he can't return. He stumbles through the vast landscape, and doesn´t stop until he gets stuck in a bush with sharp thorns. Darkness falls, as Moly hears a clear, soft tone. He breaks out of the thorns and follows the tone to the top of a hill - the tone is from the wind. Moly stands up and plays with the wind. As the wind and sun intensifies, little Moly gets blown off the hill and falls back down into the hole. When Moly wakes up, it's deathly quiet around him. Back at the burial site, the moles are walking slowly, carrying lights. Moly opens the tunnel system and lets the wind in under ground. The wind whistles its beautiful mending melody, blowing out all the light.
