What makes animated films for children good?

What makes animated films for children good? Colourful? Check. Entertaining? Check. But is that enough to make a film good for a child? Join the Animation HUB webinar, supported by the International Visegrad Fund, and find out with Ivana Laučíková.

Because animation is the number one audiovisual medium for children under seven, and young viewers’ needs change every two to three years.

In this webinar you will discover:
– how children’s thinking develops and why films must speak a language kids actually understand
– which psychological needs good films can strengthen: safety, love, self-realisation and belonging
–  how it all works in practice, through the animated series Lesná päťka (The Forest Five) as a case study

Speaker: Ivana Laučíková, associate professor and head of the Animation Department at VŠMU Bratislava, author and producer of award-winning films such as The Last Bus, co-creator of Lesná päťka.

Perfect for animators, filmmakers, educators, parents and anyone who makes or loves films for children.

Animation HUB is run by CEE Animation with the financial support of Creative Europe MEDIA.
The project is co-financed by the governments of Czechia, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia through Visegrad Grants from the International Visegrad Fund. The mission of the fund is to advance ideas for sustainable regional cooperation in Central Europe.
