Martin Búřil (1980) graduated at Faculty of Fine Arts in Brno VUT and Department of Animation at FAMU in Prague. His collaboration on the film Pandas, which was screened in Cinefondation section of Cannes is an example of his transnational appeal. Apart from animated films, he also creates installations and multimedia and site-specific projects in collaboration with illustrator Jan Šrámek. Martin Búřil has shown a great promise when it comes to animation.Through original invention and an effort to connect visual art with the film’s narration of the story, so that the film is visually original, while being understandable.
