Welcome to the (not very) distant future. Planet Earth is weeks away from complete uninhabitability. Good thing we have the technology! Like the one that allows us to reconstruct the minds of the greats and wander around in them like in a feverish VR dream. A couple of these probes have already been run and failed. But now it seems humanity has stumbled upon the right giant – the creator of the USSR space program, Sergei "The Great Constructor" Korolyov. The protagonist of our story (the Engineer) is working on this very project. Every morning he gets up in his suburban villa and rides his bike to CSKPEH (Centre of Sergei Korolyov’s for the Exodus of Humanity). During the ride, he passes dying whales and children playing in a burning sandbox and the ubiquitous banners proclaiming the program's inevitable success and imminent departure to the Moon – the forgotten Luna-Mother project that was supposed to save the human kind by moving it from the devastated Earth.
