Urga, a superhero dog with strong universal values and a hint of supernatural abilities, is on a mission to rescue young animals in need. She’s joined on her adventures by her friends — Jo and Po, two small, mysterious totem animals, and Spikee, a sharp-witted cactus from the plant world.

Director’s statement
The animated series Urga, Jo and Po is a personal tribute to the children of my friends. For me, it’s a way to spark curiosity in young minds, to encourage understanding of natural processes, and to introduce little viewers to the animal world in a playful, adventure-filled way, while also inspiring them to feel the unique power of friendship and teamwork.
Children in the later preschool years begin to ask more complex questions and look for logical answers. That’s why the stories are crafted to let them search for connections, ask questions, and discover answers on their own. Each episode strikes a balance between fact and imagination – our animals are real, their superpowers are based on reality, and the adventures of Urga, Jo and Po add a touch of fantasy that makes the stories lively, funny, and emotionally engaging.
Visual language is warm and colorful, designed to attract young viewers’ attention without overwhelming them. The animation is created using 2D cut-out animation.
