The Summer of the Moth

Yöperhosen kesä

When a reclusive gardener learns from a time-traveling moth that the world will soon end, he escapes into his happiest childhood memories – only to find out being a child isn’t quite as easy as he remembered.

A grumpy old gardener, Beanpole, rescues a strange, crown-wearing moth. That night, the grateful insect returns to thank him for his good deed. Turns out this is no normal bug, but the Prince of Moths itself – a time-traveling being, who brings dire news: “When the summer ends, the world will end too.” The Prince offers Beanpole a gift: if he wants to travel to another time in his life, the moth will help him. Disappointed by his life at the present, Beanpole chooses to visit the happiest time of his past – his last childhood summer. But as he and the Prince journey through time together, the old gardener comes to face the bittersweet truth that perhaps being a child isn’t easy as he remembered. As time starts to run out and happiness still eludes them, Beanpole begins to question whether there is such a thing at all. But the Prince sees things differently. For some – like moths – one summer is all there is. And sometimes, one summer is enough.
