THE GOLDEN BUTTERFLY

ZLATNATA PEPERUTKA

A group of kids ventures into the jungle to find a golden butterfly, but a shape-shifting witch hunts them, seeking to unlock the mythical secrets of El Dorado.

Pepe is obsessed with catching the golden butterfly he spotted during a family trip to Colombia’s Lost City. He is soon joined by his online friends—Bibi, Bobi, and their lively sidekicks—who arrive through an inter-spatial gate. Together, they set off on a daring quest. The happy-go-lucky crew plunges into the jungle, sabotages an illegal construction site, faces aggressive kinkajous, and escapes from alligator men, before being rescued by Madremonte, a spirit of nature who warns them of a dark force lurking in the rainforest. At the Lost City, they finally capture the golden butterfly—only to discover it’s a tiny fairy, guardian of the Golden City. But the evil witch has been following them all along. She appears with her minions, imprisons the kids, and forces the Golden Fairy to open the secret passage to El Dorado. Now, the young heroes must unite their courage, friendship, and strength to defeat the witch and free the legendary Golden City.

Director’s statement
Five years ago, when we started the Bibi saga, we couldn’t have imagined how many smiles and joyful moments it would bring. Today, Bibi and Bobby are a beloved part of childhood across Macedonia, proving animated films can shape young minds and teach essential values.
