The Clan of Doriak

Le clan des Doriak

A mysterious Clan threatened with extinction by human activity. Or is the threat coming from within ?

The Doriak, a mysterious people living deep in the mountains, form a clan headed by ten Wise Ones, including Esgor, guardian of the Gate, the point of passage to our world. As drilling operations destroy the mountain with dynamite, the Amalyth, their protective stone, is lost. Lora and Joachim, two teenagers living on the outskirts of a big city, take in the Amalyth and discover its extraordinary powers. They help the wise Esgor and his people to keep the Amalyth safe from Gribal, a Doriak banished from the Clan. What are Gribal's plans? Will they be able to stop Gribal, who has never accepted rejection from his clan?

Director’s statement
With my project, I would like to create an original universe, as far away as possible from the ‘heroïc fantasy’ style you might think of at first, on the pretext that the Clan of Doriak is home to ‘Wise Men’. So there are no long white beards, no long evanescent tunics or magician's sceptres for the Doriak. And the stone named Amalyth in my project is not influenced by the Palantir from The Lord of the Rings. Or the Philosopher's Stone from 2001 : A Space Odyssey.
The Amalyth has its own nature and modus operandi. Doriak use it to communicate with the spirits. The Clan of Doriak compare spirits of Nature to electromagnetic waves. But our world is polluted by artificial eletromagnetic fields. And the Doriak may be the nearest victims of human activities.
And this is not necessary a good news.
