Slight Oddity

Mala osebujnost

Honest conversation between two fragile individuals who talk about their kinks through art and imagination.

Slight Oddity blends documentary and surreal animation to tell a story through voice recordings. Red, a shy illustrator from Croatia, meets Inkii, a charming fetishist from the U.S. They share their deepest desires and childhood memories. Together, they invent characters, opening up in new ways. They explore how fantasy can help overcome shame, loneliness, and identity issues. In their creative world, giantesses munch on cities. Mad scientists conduct wild experiments. Cults worship latex goddesses. In a unique restaurant, filled with charming quirks, our two characters can be their true selves.

Director’s statement
I conceived Slight Oddity to explore the power of imagination, especially for outsiders. I’m fascinated by their feelings. Animation lets me show what’s hidden or hard to say.

The film features two characters on an adventure. Their curiosity leads to recognition, and they discover freedom. The drama stems from their mirrored stories, turning feelings into fantasy.

The 1950s Cartoon Moderne-inspired style features bold visuals, vivid colors, and adaptive perspective. Real documentary audio brings a human touch. Music and sound design stir emotions.

As director, I use fun to tackle serious topics and surrealism to express real feelings. Slight Oddity celebrates creativity and uniqueness. It invites the audience to laugh and feel the freedom without any judgment.
