Pebbi

Pebbi is a show about a stone who simply loves adventure, set in a world that provides him with plenty of it. But as he skips and scrapes and jumps through it all, he’s surrounded by friends and family who aren't just along for the ride, but are there to cheer him on, guide him through the seasons, and be beside him when things (ahem) hit rock bottom. In the land of Stone Valley, every rock is a person - and boy, do they have personalities! Just like the real world, every rock is a kid, parent, teacher, or friend you feel like you already know. And that’s what makes Stone Valley feel like every town - like your hometown. But there’s something even more special at play. Because time feels different when you’re just a stone - a day to them is a whole year for us! Plant a seed, and it rockets up in seconds! Mushrooms grow tall enough to ride right before your eyes! And as morning is spring and evening is winter, you can play with flowers in the daytime and build a snow castle before you go to bed! Other than that, Stone Valley has a lot of what we have in the regular world: grandparents, schools, doctors, playgrounds - all the everyday things - just in their own stony way. They’re just a little sillier, completely analog, and a lot more earth-y!

Director’s statement
I grew up on heartfelt animated films and always wanted to create such stories on my own. As a child, I loved playing with miniatures and imagining the lives of inanimate objects like stones, leaves, or even cutlery. That's why I decided to let my fantasy spread its wings and bring one of these childhood fantasies to life with a world full of tiny living stones, depicting their unique ways of life. Stones are rarely the main characters in animated movies, which is why it’s so appealing to me, allowing everyone to peek into a unique world never discovered before.

We started creating Pebbi as a short animated film, but fell in love with the universe so much that we decided to expand it into a show. And a show, of course, starts with a pilot we’re working on right now.
