Lost in the abstract colors of the night, followed only by her shadow, a young woman meets a pair of eyes, eyes never seen before and ever again.
Late evening, rain falls drop by drop. Music can be heard from a filled bar. The band is hidden behind dancing shoulders and only a woman’s red scarf makes a contrast. She drinks all of her wine and storms out of the bar. She walks through the empty streets until a cat stops her. Gently she reaches in, but the little animal runs away, unveiling a lighter waiting for her to be picked. It starts to pour, soaking wet she finds shelter right next to the tram stop. A figure enters and with his strong energy makes her feel afraid. Caught up in his anger at the rain, he pulls out a wet box of cigarettes. Quickly he grabs a gasper and puts it in his mouth, but tension rises as he's unable to light it. On the edge of fury, about to break the glass next to him, a hand appears from the dark. The area is filled with peace, as he sees the lighter. An exchange of sights. The tram is about to take her, leaving the man only with a piece of plastic and a glimpse of eyes he'll never see again.
Director’s statement
My intent with this film is somehow to provoke people to slow down and look for the beautiful little things around them, like the colors of the rainy night. The project is in the very early stage of visual search. As for the compositions and the act of the film, I have a very clear idea, of what I want to achieve. Maybe the hardest part will be to find the balance of color in terms of abstraction combined with the realistic nature of the film. Being part of events of this kind is a huge inspiration and motivation for me. It's a dream of mine, to be able to contribute to the cultural growth of my country.
