In My Head

Vnútro

An honest meeting with your brain.

Let’s get to know each other, this is your Brain. Brain is sitting in a restaurant, sipping from a glass of water. The Brain wants to talk to you and introduce you to its good friends, Anxiety, Perfect Eating Disorder and Mr. Depression. Accept Brain‘s invitation and look inside yourself in a way you’ve probably never thought about yourself before. Anxiety, Depression, and Eating Disorder will tell their stories to you in the form of fictional people. Through interviews, through observing their reactions during ordinary days or in therapy, we get to the marrow of discovering that the brain’s defense mechanisms, which have evolved over several millennia, can really mess up our lives. Their narrative is complemented by the opinions of experts, explanations of the brain itself, and don’t be surprised if broccoli, your cell phone, the refrigerator, or your stomach speaks to you. If you’ve ever searched for answers to why you feel the way you do, you have come to the right place.

Director’s statement
Animation really offers a lot of possibilities to grasp such a topic and help explain the complexities of mental health through a stylized image. In the film I would like to work with a "documentary" form, that is, using resources that are often found in documentaries – talking heads or archive footage – but everything would also be animated. So I would create an animated world that replicates the real one, but also shows things "from the inside" that can't be shown in a traditional documentary. Animation makes it possible to show things much more accurately and to get inside people's heads, to show their feelings and explain what is going on inside them.
So I would like to create a whole story like a fictional documentary, but based on real people's stories and testimonies, to create a story that works and at the same time tells interesting facts from the world of psychology and how human feelings and thoughts work. I'm going to show the problems and the solutions.
