After killing the most annoying member of the family, everyone agrees that the best way to get rid of the body is to eat it. Unfortunately, they’re still waiting for the youngest, and they can’t let her know that her favorite uncle is on the menu.
Everyone is used to Philippe, the family’s know-it-all, and his unpleasant remarks. But today, before lunch, his two sisters, brother-in-law and nephew can’t keep their tempers. They go off the rails and TCHAK! Philippe is lying on the floor, dead. That’s bad timing : Jeanne, the youngest family member, is about to arrive any minute and she might not be very happy to learn they killed her favorite uncle. In the middle of this crisis, they need to make a group decision to hide the corpse. The body is cut, cooked, seasoned, served in the plates. Now they just need to eat it and smile…
Director’s statement
I've always found family dinners uncomfortable. The concept is quite strange: you gather with people you sometimes don't like, and have to act like the perfect family. This comedy is about these roles we play to "survive" our time together, and how absurd they are when everything else is falling apart. To explore this idea, I'm telling the story from the perspective of a family that wants to avoid dealing with their problems so much that they end up being psychopaths...
For this film, I will use watercolor animation to create a vibrant and joyful atmosphere in contrast with the murder story, echoing the happy facade the family tries to maintain.
