Too Many Cooks? Developing a Series in Collaboration with 13 European Public Broadcasters
Finding one broadcaster for your series is hard enough. But what happens when more than ten suddenly want to be part of it?
Søren Fleng came to Cartoon Forum with the series Curly Tales (formerly Pig & Andersen) and it was selected as one of two series for the first edition of the EBU animation development initiative. Søren will take us through how the journey of a project attracting interest from multiple broadcasters looks from the producer’s chair. What opportunities does this open up and where can things start getting complicated? How do you navigate different expectations and interests? And where is the line between benefiting from many voices and letting too many demands reshape your series?
