Valeria Weerasinghe is an Italian-Sri Lankan animator, director and festival curator. After training in Media Arts focusing on filmmaking, she specialized in Character Animation, combining her passions for cinema and drawing. Her works create a visual dialogue between reality and imagination exploring themes of memory, roots, and nostalgia. In 2021, she won the Mutti Award, promoted by the Cineteca di Bologna Foundation, and created her first animated short 'In a drop' produced by Sayonara Film.
