Maciej Chmiel has been active in the cultural sector since 1985 as a manager, journalist, and producer. He initiated the Fryderyk Awards and served as Deputy Director of the Opole and Sopot festivals, Director of TVP2, and Deputy Director of TVP's Trade Office. He has produced TV programs, documentaries, albums, and music videos, and has been an expert and juror at international animation festivals. Since 2021, he has been the Director of Studio Filmów Rysunkowych in Bielsko-Biała.
