Kaspar Jancis

Kaspar Jancis (1975) is one of the most prolific Estonian animated film authors, also a musician, composer, scenographer, and lyricist.

Already at an early age, he became interested in comics and writing. He has been a creative member of many rock groups. He studied filmmaking at Tallinn University and Turku Arts and Media School (Finland). Over the years, he has directed a number of animated films in drawn animation or puppet stop-motion techniques, and his films have received numerous awards at international film festivals. In 2010, he was the laureate of the European Cartoon d’Or with his animated film Crocodile (Eesti Joonisfilm).
