Izabela Smolińska

Screenwriter, journalist, sociologist, and cultural animator. She studied at the University of Warsaw and the Polish National Film School in Łódź. She is a graduate of the Script Atelier program and took part in screenwriting workshops for young audiences led by Philip LaZebnik. In 2016, following a series of reports from the Serbian-Hungarian border, she set off on a journey through refugee camps, documenting Europe’s migration crisis with a camera in hand. Her short films include „Tv” (2018), „Bingo!” (2018), „Legacy” (2020), and „Honey Bunny” (2024), which premiered with a Golden Lajkonik nomination at the 2024 Krakow Film Festival. She is currently developing „Honey Bunny” into a television series and working on her feature debut. She believes that the world makes no sense without irony and a sense of humor.
