What Water Took
Odplouváš
Can the echoes of folk songs help us let go of past loves?
A virtual introspective poem draws the audience into the inner worlds of three Czech and Slovak folk songs. Accompanied by flowing melodies that resonate from the past into the present, figures begin to dance around the participants within a specially designed animated aquatic landscape, telling a story of the endless labyrinth of human emotions—of love and condemnation, of disappointment and pain. In a mixed reality format, the audience is encouraged to interact with these figures and project their own experiences of love onto them, so that, in the end, all these emotions may drift away on the water, leaving the soul cleansed. The project thus aspires to a therapeutic dimension, emphasizing the deeply personal nature of each individual’s experience of love.
