The Last Bookstore in the World

Poslednja knjižara na svetu

In the near future, where printed books are on the brink of extinction, a group of brave elders leads an emotional and humorous battle for the last bookstore, fighting against arrogant investors with the help of friendship, courage, and unwavering belief in the importance of culture.

Somewhere, sometime in the near future, the last bookshop on Earth is about to close down due to the construction of a commercial business complex. With it, a certain way of life and living culture is at risk of being obliterated by progress. An elderly bookseller, with the support of his friends—a group of aging outcasts—is planning a resistance. They use every possible method to raise funds and gather people both online and in person to prolong the fight. But as time goes on, it becomes harder to maintain the trust and energy of the people, to combat mainstream media, and to stay brave in the face of real danger. The uncertain struggle ends happily for the crew. Or does it? The bookshop remains solitary amidst the landscape of commercial buildings, interesting as an Instagram backdrop—the last bastion of culture into which someone occasionally wanders. Sometimes even a child, to pick up a book because their e-book broke while reading a very exciting story.
