Hidden Sounds
Hidden Sounds
In a noisy world, Zamira travels the world to reclaim stolen sounds from ancient legends. Reaching Europe, she frees them into modern instruments, defeating the Great Noise so music can live again.
The story titled “Hidden Sounds” follows the adventures of a cheerful and curious young girl, Zamira, as she travels the world to reclaim lost sounds. Along her journey, she encounters numerous cultures and learns about local myths, legends, and ancient instruments. At the start of her journey, Zamira discovers the omnipresent Great Noise, which masks the sounds of the stars, the wind, and the birds. Her mission to make the sounds of nature audible once again leads her to the most diverse corners of the world, from Africa to Japan and Australia. She becomes part of local creation stories, uncovering and collecting the natural sounds hidden by people inside musical instruments. Finally, in Europe, Zamira meets a philharmonic orchestra, where she releases the sounds she has gathered; they defeat the Great Noise, and the world is filled with music once more.
Director’s statement
Our mediatized world is drowning in a chaotic, continuous wall of noise. This constant digital overstimulation separates us from true values—a crisis that heavily impacts youth who still lack a mature core value system. Hidden Sounds offers a sensory antidote to this global condition.
Driven by personal family experience, the film addresses a pressing psychological issue: ADHD, exploring how digital acceleration worsens these symptoms. To counteract this, our immersive film language utilizes conscious deceleration. With no direct cuts, transitions take at least 30 seconds, allowing the audience to physically integrate into the cinematic space and slow down modern media habits.
