When perfectionistic Cinelli’s shell is stolen by her jealous neighbour Peri, she tumbles into depression. While Peri finds out how suffocating Cinelli’s life is, Cinelli realises she is more than just her shell.
Down in the Dumps tells the story of Cinelli, a perfectionist ladybug wants to be loved by everyone and pretends to feel good, even when she doesn’t, and Peri, a blunt cockroach who is jealous of how loved Cinelli is among the others. When Peri steals Cinelli's ladybug shield to take revenge for not being invited to her birthday party, Cinelli disappears into the ground because she feels worthless without it. There she faces Obius, a dangerous centipede who talks her further and further into the dark. Peri decides to rescue Cinelli from the caverns of her depression when he finds out how suffocating her life actually is. Can Cinelli, with the help of Peri, break free and find her own way?
