Disbalance

Disbalans

A mysterious man with amnesia called Who wakes up in the surreal world Disbalance. In his journey to discover the truth about his identity, he unlocks the mystery of the world’s existence.

The End of the World is the name of a bar set in an analogue TV, where all the strange customers go about their usual business. But when a mysterious man suffering from amnesia called Who appears, weird things start to happen, plunging the world of Disbalance into total chaos. The fact that there's no evidence that he ever existed is very strange since he finds himself in a futuristic world of mass surveillance. Being watched all the time makes him paranoid, especially the impossibility of staying anonymous. And while everyone around him is so obsessed with their virtual personas, Who is just trying to find himself.

Director’s statement
The idea behind Disbalance is to speak about human stories in the virtual world. People are escaping reality and hiding in their own worlds. But the consequences of modern technology, such as social media's impact on mental health, are one of the reasons why the world we tend to escape to is dangerous. I find myself struggling for identity in the digital age and what I'm seeking to do in the series is to capture the impact of modern living on people, especially young adults. This is a series that addresses the fundamental issue of this age: who are we in this fakery.
