A Door to Othertown

Átjáró Másvárosba

The witty but dreamy Kazmer and his sharp friend Kamilla get on an investigation to find a way to save the magical and quirky Othertown - and as they do the difference is felt in the real world too.

A 9-year-old sharp-witted but dreamy boy Kázmér and his friend Kamilla, a brilliant girl respond to a call for help by a peculiar person with an even more peculiar problem. In the magical world of Othertown nothing new is happening anymore! And because nothing new is happening, the people are losing their sense of time and purpose. Good job that the resourceful children find a way to save Othertown by using their unique skills - and as they do the difference is felt in the real world too.

Director’s statement
When I was working on the series titled "A door to Othertown" my aim was talking to children about meaningful questions in a playful and creative way. I believe I could achieve my goal because I used the powerful tools of animation and seasoned them with a good amount of humour. Following the investigation happening in this quirky place full of peculiar and heartwarming characters we learn a lot about accepting ourselves and others.
Watching the mystery being unfolded by the two friends we learn about how far a strong friendship can take us. Feeling the struggle of a character having a writers block we learn about the ups and downs of life and the weight of responsibility. But most of all: during the 13 episodes of "A door to Othertown" we participate in a grand, sweet and funny adventure, that entertains the whole family.
