How to lose money on your first TV show and how to get it back?

You are starting an animation studio. You have Netflix ambitions, you have world-class ideas, but no one knows you and no one wants to invest in your animated series. So you have to start somewhere.

Producer Martin Jůza from Czech animation studio Krutart will tell you the story of the animated series Kosmix and what steps they had to take to produce 2 seasons of their home-grown IP. How they had to change their mindset, what they lost the most money on and what mistakes they made so that you don’t have to repeat them.

Krutart animation studio creates beautiful things and integrates them with functional and intelligible communication. They combine classical and digital animation and follow trends in global motion design. In their catalogue, you can find animated series and short films, as well as feature-length documentaries. They offer an experienced, well-coordinated team and good post-production facilities. The first documentary feature The Russian Job premiered at IDFA 2017, went to Hot Docs and many other prestigious doc festivals around the world.

CEE Animation is supported by the Creative Europe – MEDIA Programme of the European Union and co-funded by state funds and foundations and professional organisations from the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia and Slovenia.
