Zane Oborenko

Zane Oborenko is a Latvian animation director and artist specializing in the challenging and intricate technique of frame-by-frame sand animation. Her distinctive visual language explores the fragile nature of inner worlds and psychological states. Zane holds an MA in Animation from the Estonian Academy of Arts and studied at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts (Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera) in Milan. Her latest short film, Kafka. In Love, has received international acclaim, including the Best Film award at the Beijing International Short Film Festival (BISFF), the Best Nordic-Baltic Short Film award at the Fredrikstad Animation Festival, and the FIPRESCI Latvian branch award.
