Multifaceted artist, Pierre Földes is a director, composer, animator, painter and production designer.
Born in the United States, of Hungarian father and British mother. Pierre Földes is the son of a pioneer of computer animation, Peter Földes, awarded at Cannes, Césars and Oscars. He grew up in Paris, where he studied piano, composition and orchestration. Very young, he also played in theater. Then he became an assistant director. He made his debut as a composer in New York for cinema and advertising before returning to Europe. Passionate about drawing, painting and animation, he then joined the Academy of Fine Arts in Budapest. He wrote and directed several short films by adapting a production pipeline to his film ideas. He thus developed a technique and a personal and singular style. Blind Willow, Sleeping Woman is his first feature film as a director. He invented for this film a particular animation technique, the “Live Animation”.
