Mykyta Lyskov began his career in the early 2000s as a classical painter before turning to animation directing. He studied animation directing at the Karpenko-Karyi Kyiv National University of Theatre, Cinema and Television.
He currently lives and works in Dnipro, Ukraine. His films explore contemporary Ukrainian themes, which he approaches through absurdity, irony, and black humor. His 2019 film Deep Love received numerous international awards, including the Grand Prix at DOK Leipzig and PÖFF Shorts. Lyskov also collaborates with musicians, creating animated visuals and accompaniment for live performances. His film Imaginary Landscapes won the Grand Prix in abstraction competition at Anifilm in the Czech Republic in 2022. Since 2023, he has been teaching animation and scriptwriting at Dnipro Art College in Ukraine.
