Martin Novotný is a graphic designer and illustrator, a graduate of the Graphic Design Studio (under Professor Mikoláš Axmann) at the Ladislav Sutnar School of Design and Art at the University of West Bohemia. He is interested in various techniques of drawing and especially graphic art, which he also studied at the Academy in Krakow, Poland. He has participated in several Czech and international symposia and exhibitions (Trophies, Grandma, Art-survive!, Flur, Side Baroque). He has also applied his experience in working with materials as an assistant in the Book and Papermaking Studio at the Faculty of Arts in Pilsen. He is interested in intaglio printing techniques, lithography and especially woodcut and linocut, where the Czech graphic artist Josef Váchal became his model and source of inspiration.
