Maria Brudașcă is a visual artist, graduate of University of Art and Design Cluj-Napoca working in the fields of graphic arts, animation, illustration and video. Her works are based on mainly analog techniques such as frame by frame drawing, shadow animation, papercut and experimental techniques. In thefield of animation she has created several indie short author films, all of which have been selected for screening at Anim’Est International Animation Film Festival (2014, 2018, 2020) and have been featured in various other events, such as interractive and online exhibitions. In 2022 she started working on her first book adaptation project `A Horse in a SwanSea` based on the novel with the same title written by romanian author Raluca Nagy. She has participated with this project to the 2022 edition of Sisterhood of Young Animation Artists, and has won the Pitch, please! 2022 competition, both organized by Anim’Est International Animation Film Festival.
