Lise Fearnley founded the production company Mikrofilm in 1996, alongside director Kajsa Næss. Fearnley has produced a considerable number of animated short films, of which two received Oscar nominations, and Torill Kove's The Danish Poet won the Oscar for Best Animated Short in 2007. She was co-producer of the European Film Award nominated feature film The Ape Star directed by Linda Hambäck and producer of the multi award-winning feature Titina, directed by Kajsa Næss. Lise has been vital in building the animation industry in Norway and is a long-term board member of Fredrikstad Animation Festival, the most important animation festival in the Nordic region. In 2023, Lise - alongside her partners on Titina - was nominated as European Producer of the Year at Cartoon Movie. She is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (the "Oscar Academy") and the European Film Academy.
