Jarmo Lampela

Jarmo has worked as the Head of Drama at Yle (Finnish Broadcasting Company) since 2015.

He graduated from ELO, the Department of Film, Television and Scenography, in 1992 and has worked as a director, scriptwriter, and producer across numerous cinema, television, and theatre productions, his most recent film is Don Quijote in Barcelona (2026). From 2007 to 2014, Jarmo worked as a Professor of Film Directing and Head of the Department of Film, Television and Scenography at Aalto University. In recent years, Yle has produced several international TV series co-productions—Belzebubs (Spain, Italy, Germany), Queen of Fucking Everything (Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, Iceland, Norway), Guts (Slovenia, France), Seconds (Germany, Denmark / N12), and Helsinki Syndrome (Germany).
