Alexey Evstigneev

Alexey was born in Russia. He graduated from VGIK Moscow and University of Pilsen. His graduation film was selected for the EFA Award and won IDFA Talent Award at Visions du Réel. In 2023, he directed an animated short film, Father’s Letters, selected at nearly 100 festivals. His latest film, Habibi (2025), premiered at Clermont-Ferrand. Alexey has taken part in numerous labs, including Groupe Ouest, Annecy Residency, CEE Animation Forum… He received the Lagardère Animation Grant in 2025.
