The 4 th Edition of the CEEA Workshop Wraps Up With Its Final Online Module

Module 4 of this year’s CEE Animation Workshop is wrapping up. It has taken place online on 7 – 9 November 2022. The programme consisted of group work, masterclasses, lectures and online networking, helping 11 projects in development and 31 participants gain invaluable knowledge and skills to successfully navigate the animation industry.

The participants developed their projects under the mentorship of the CEE Animation Workshop group leaders Ole Wendorff-Østergaard, Phil Parker, Jean-François Le Corre and Rita Domonyi. In addition to the intensive group work, participants got the chance to acquire knowledge from guest experts. Animation director Špela Čadež held a masterclass, producer Tina Smrekar presented a case study of the distribution and financing of the short animated film Steakhouse, Danka Krasnohorska lectured about working with a sales agent, while Ines Kežman and Vlaďka Chytilová presented funding opportunities in Creative Europe MEDIA programme. Balázs Turai and Zsuzsana Kreif discussed the transition from short formats to feature film and Luce Grosjean lectured about the distribution of short films.

“We are happy to conclude yet another successful edition of the CEE Animation Workshop. We believe that the projects and participants are leaving us very well equipped. With great progress on their projects, on scripts and prepared production packages and pitches, with new skills they gained and with a broadened network in the animation industry, they are ready to enter the market”, says Saša Bach, the managing director of the CEE Animation Workshop.

The 4th edition of the CEE Animation Workshop is wrapping up. In 2022, the CEE Animation Workshop has had 3 online and 1 on-site module. The latter took place in Łódź, Poland end of August. The CEEA Workshop 2022 helped developed 11 project from 31 participants and hosted 24 guest expert lecturers. The submissions for the next edition are open till 14 November.
