CEE Animation Workshop 2025: Third Module Set to Launch in Łódź, Poland

With two out of four modules successfully completed and the third now under way, the seventh edition of the CEE Animation Workshop, a year-long project development and training programme, is in full swing. Module 1 took place earlier this year in Nova Gorica / Gorizia, the European Capital of Culture 2025, followed by an online Module 2 held in May. Now, Module 3 is ready for launch in Łódź, Poland.

Running from 28 July to 3 August 2025, Module 3 will bring together 26 workshop participants — producers and their creative teams from 10 European countries. 12 animated projects will be further developed during the course of six days through intensive 1:1 sessions, group work and a series of lectures and masterclasses by guest experts.

Seasoned producers Réka Temple (Cinemon Entertainment, Hungary) and Annemie Degryse (Lumière Group and Les Productions de Milou, France), along with experienced script consultants Phil Parker (United Kingdom) and Rita Domonyi (Hungary), will be guiding this year’s participants as their group leaders, bringing their wealth of experience and expertise in animation.

The lecture series opens on Monday, 28 July, with “Lumière – From Production to Distribution” by Annemie Degryse. On Tuesday, guest experts Michael Arnon (WOLF Consultants, Germany) and Boris Pugnet (Space Odyssey, France) will give a lecture on marketing, followed by practical group work sessions with the participants. On the same day Réka Temple will present a lecture on intellectual property (IP). On Thursday, producer Tonje Skar Reiersen (Mikrofilm, Norway) will lead a session focused on pitching, guiding participants on how to compellingly present their projects.

Caroline Williams and Bernie Cullinan (Pragma, Ireland) will provide company development strategy consultations. Seasoned producers Jožko Rutar (Staragara / SPOK, Slovenia), Juraj Krasnohorský (Artichoke, Slovakia), Annemie Degryse, and Réka Temple will also offer feedback on participants’ presentation packages.

An Open Industry Day will take place on 1 August in the great ambient of the venue EC1, featuring a public pitching session, a presentation of the Polish animation industry, and a masterclass by Giovanna Ferrari, an award-winning storyboard artist and animator (The Breadwinner, 2018 – Emile Award; My Father’s Dragon, 2023 – Irish Animation Award). The day will conclude with a visit and screening at the legendary Łódź Film School, followed by a garden party.

Following Module 3, a final online module is scheduled for mid-October. Upon completing the workshop, participants will benefit from the broader CEE Animation network and will be ready to present their projects at various industry and market events across Europe.
