CEE Animation Workshop 2024: 3rd Module About to Start
Earlier this year, the CEE Animation Workshop 2024 entered its sixth edition. In February, the participants gathered for the 1st module in Vilnius, Lithuania. The 2nd module followed online at the end of April, and soon, the 3rd module will start in the beautiful coastal town of Opatija, Croatia, gathering 28 participants from 13 different countries, who will deepen their knowledge and hone their skills on animation content production and receive individual feedback by international experts and their colleagues on their projects in development.
The 3rd module will take place between 29 July and 4 August 2024. 12 animated projects will be further developed during the course of the week through intense 1:1 sessions, group work and several lectures and masterclasses. Esteemed producers Tonje Skar Reiersen (Mikrofilm, Norway) and Corinne Destombes (Folimage, France), along with experienced script consultants Phil Parker (United Kingdom) and Rita Domonyi (Hungary), are again stepping into their roles as group leaders, guiding our participants towards getting their projects ready to access the market.
We are pleased to reveal a series of lectures by distinguished professionals. Michael Arnon (WOLF Consultants, Germany) will lead a dynamic marketing workshop, Ulrich Michel (Noerr, Germany) will conduct an engaging workshop on the art of negotiation, equipping our participants with essential skills for effective communication and deal-making. Katrin Nändelstaedt (Germany) will offer a session focused on pitching, guiding participants on how to compellingly present their projects. Caroline Williams and Bernie Culinan (Pragma, Ireland) will share their expertise and offer invaluable company strategy consultations. Additionally, Edmunds Jansons (Latvia) and Luca Toth (Hungary) will deliver consultations on visual development.
We will also be hosting an Open Industry Day, taking place on the 31 July and 1 August, when around 20 Croatian animation industry professionals will be joining our CEE Animation Workshop participants for masterclasses, lectures and networking. Iva Kraljević (Croatia) and William Steinberg (USA) will lead a masterclass on editing, offering deep insights on editing in animation. Additionally, we will host a Roundtable on the Croatian Animation Landscape, with industry experts Draško Ivezić (Adriatic Animation, Croatia), Vanja Andrijević (Bonobo Studio, Croatia), and Ornela Čop (Animafest Zagreb, Croatia) discussing current trends, challenges, and opportunities in the vibrant field of Croatian animation.
CEE Animation Workshop in Opatija is organized by Slovene Animated Film Association – DSAF, CEE Animation, Slovak Association of Animated Film Producers – APAF, Polish Animation Producers Association – SPPA and supported by Creative Europe – MEDIA, Croatian Audiovisual Centre – HAVC and Ministry of Public Administration, Republic of Slovenia.
