CEE Animation Workshop 2024: 2nd module already in full swing
The CEE Animation Workshop 2024 entered its sixth edition with an on-site module in Vilnius, Lithuania, at the end of February. This week, from 22 till 27 April, the participants embarked on module 2, taking place online. Starting their days with Group Work to advance their projects and listening to exciting new lectures from esteemed experts, a week full of valuable knowledge awaits our participants.
The first lecture of the week was presented by experienced Danish producer and expert from the Danish Film Institute, Ole Wendorff-Østergaard. In a talk called Cashflow & Financing Landscape, he shared many possibilities and sources of financing films in Europe, and also how to manage finances during production. Group leader and script consultor Phil Parker continued with part II of his lesson Introduction to Screenwriting presented in the first module in Vilnius.
On the second day, the participants were learning how to strategically plan and manage their company as a business, or career as a freelancer. Two dedicated experts from the UK, Caroline Williams and Bernie Cullinan held their on Company Strategy Development.
On the third day, pitching expert Katrin Nandelstädt from Germany presented a few tips on How to deliver a successful pitch. The next day, a complemented session entitled How to structure a successful pitch will be presented by Juraj Krasnohorsky, who will give the participants tips in terms of structuring content of the pitch, as from the producer’s experience.
On Friday, 26 April, a session will be dedicated to the creative potential of VR with one of the leading artists in this field, Uri Kranot. We will finish the week with a masterclass presented by Tonje Skar Reiersen from Mikrofilm Norway, who will guide us through her current project of feature film in advanced development, Pesta. In this case study, Tonje will show how to develop, package and publicly present a project in development.
Esteemed producers Tonje Skar Reiersen (Mikrofilm, Norway) and Corinne Destombes (Folimage, France), along with experienced script consultants Phil Parker (United Kingdom) and Rita Domonyi (Hungary), are guiding this year’s participants as their group leaders, bringing their wealth of experience and expertise in animation.
The CEE Animation Workshop 2024 module 1 took place in Vilnius, Lithuania, from 26 February to 2 March 2024 and the 2nd module is taking place online. Two more modules will follow; 1 on-site in summer in Croatia and 1 online, end of October. After the completion of the Workshop, participants will be able to take advantage of the CEE Animation network and will be ready to present their projects at various industry and market events in the EU.
