CEE Animation Workshop 2023 wraps up with its final module!

The CEE Animation Workshop’s 5th edition concluded with its last module online held from October 23rd to October 27th, 2023. This final module spanned five days and featured a dynamic schedule, consisting of 1:1 meetings with more than 30 the industry decision-makers, collaborative group work, practical sessions, and enlightening expert lectures. As a result of the year-long training, a total of 12 projects have emerged, fully prepared to enter the market and embark on their journey to conquer the world of animation.

The fifth generation of the CEE Animation Workshop consisted of 31 international animation professionals, who embarked on a year-long training and developed their project from the early stage to the final developed production package. An exciting programme hosted internationally renowned professionals, who have shared their skills and insights, and offered opportunities for networking and creating new connections that will last far beyond the duration of the training.

It’s been a truly inspiring year following the journey of creative filmmakers throughout the CEE Animation Workshop 2023. Due to their great work and efforts and thanks to our generous and engaged Group leaders and guest experts, we are sure, they have received a valuable jump-start for their projects. They are equipped with new skills and professional friendships, that will help them on the journey of making quality animated films, ’concluded Saša Bach, the Managing Director.

The final module has once again hosted guest experts from various fields of animation. Pierre Yves Drapeau, composer, sound designer and mixer, hosted a Masterclass About Sound Post-production in Animation. Business affairs manager and producer Danka Krasnohorska took care of the lectures titled Producers’ join lecture: Working with a Sales Agent. Ines Kežman, programme coordinator for MEDIA & cross-sectoral strand at Motovila, Centre for the Promotion of Cooperation in the Cultural and Creative Sectors, and Vlaďka Chytilova from Creative Europe Desk CZ discussed Funding opportunities: Creative Europe MEDIA programme. Michael Arnon, international publicist and marketing consultant, took over the Practical Marketing Session, while Luce Grosjean from the Miyu Distribution, held a Lecture on Festival Strategy.

The CEE Animation Workshop 2023 started with an on-site module in Ljubljana at the end of the February. Online module followed in April, followed by a third module in August in Bratislava. The fifth edition of the CEE Animation Workshop has come to an end with an online module end of October. Established producers Tonje Skar Reiersen (Mikrofilm, Norway) and Corinne Destombes (Folimage, France) joined the training as main group leaders and Phil Parker (United Kingdom) and Rita Domonyi (Hungary) returned as group leaders – script consultors.

CEE Animation Workshop is organized by Slovene Animated Film Association – DSAF, Slovak Association of Animated Film Producers – APAF, CEE Animation and supported by Creative Europe – MEDIA, Ministry of Public Administration, Republic of Slovenia, Slovak Audiovisual Fund, Slovenian Film Center and AIPA.
