Applications Open for the 2nd Edition of the Animation Lab DOK Leipzig

After a successful first collaboration, CEE Animation and DOK Industry team up again for the 2nd edition of Animation Lab DOK Leipzig. This four-day intense workshop is designed for professional producers who are developing their first animated documentary and are eager to explore the international landscape of the animation industry. The programmme will cover key topics such as project development, production and distribution.

About

Animation Lab DOK Leipzig 2024 is a collaboration between CEE Animation and DOK Leipzig. This four-day residential event will take place from 28 October to 1 November 2024 alongside the DOK Industry Programme in Leipzig.

 

What to expect?

The workshop will consist of group work, personal and project presentations, lectures, direct one-to-one expert consultations and networking events. We will address topics such as filmnarrative, film development and pre-production, distribution and creative aspects of animated documentaries development.

Experienced producer Jean-François Le Corre (Vivement-Lundi!, FR) and multidisciplinary artist Uri Kranot (Tindrum, DK) will lead the workshop programme, accompanied by the CEE Animation team. Mentoring staff will be available to address any specific questions or professional requests from participants.

In addition, the participants will also receive accreditations for the 67th DOK Leipzig Festival and DOK Industry Programme 2024.

Participation fee: 250 €, includes workshop sessions and festival accreditation
Language: The workshop will be conducted in English.

 

When and where?

The Animation Lab takes place on-site in Leipzig.

Workshop dates: arrival 28 October, departure 1 November
Workshop programme: 28 October (afternoon) – 1 November (afternoon)

Applications are open until 30 June 2024.

 

Who can apply?

The Animation Lab is aimed at filmmakers/producers who wish to expand their knowledge of the production and distribution of animated documentaries.

Applications with a presentation of the film project are welcome. In the application form, we’ll ask for a link to your project’s visual approach and style if relevant.
