ANIMA SPIRIT 2026
Animation Inspirational Lab in collaboration with When East Meets West
ANIMA SPIRIT is designed as an entrance door for experienced producers and film companies coming from live action or documentary, wanting to discover the exciting and complex world of animated film production. The Lab will combine group work, individual consultancies, and lectures on financial and creative aspects of animation production.
ANIMA SPIRIT is part of the When East Meets West (WEMW) The Lab is hosted by the CEE Animation Workshop team and led by international experts Martin Vandas (producer, MAUR Film, Czech Republic) and Sabine Andersone (producer, Atom Art studio, Latvia).

SUBMISSION & DEADLINE
In order to submit your application and the required materials you need to create your own account and fill in the following online form.

All applicants will be informed about the selection results in December 2025. The final selection will be primarily based on the applicant’s profile and motivation, and all selected participants will have the opportunity to join the full WEMW programme.
DATES & LOCATIONS
Inspirational Labs will take place on site in Trieste, Italy during WEMW.
All Inspirational Labs activities will take place from 18 to 21 January 2025 in Trieste and will be smoothly integrated with the WEMW Programme. Participants selected for one of the Inspirational Labs or any other programme will be granted physical access to the market site.
FEE
In case of selection, the participation fee is € 250 EUR, including WEMW & Trieste Film Festival accreditation, tuition fee and lunches. Travel costs and accommodation are not included.
* The participation fee will be waived for all Ukrainian selected participants.
