CEE Animation Workshop 2023: second module is already in full swing

The second module of the CEE Animation Workshop 2023 is already in full swing. The online module started on Monday, 24 April, and will wrap up on Saturday, 29 April. In a week full of online lectures, group work, feedback sessions, film screenings, inspirational participant TED talks and a masterclass, 32 participants from 16 countries will continue developing their 12 projects towards getting the fully developed production package ready to access the market.

The CEE Animation Workshop is already in its fifth edition that has kicked off at the end of February with an on-site module in Ljubljana, Slovenia. The participants have already had a chance to meet their group leaders; established producers Tonje Skar Reiersen (Mikrofilm, Norway) and Corinne Destombes (Folimage, France) and the script consultors Phil Parker (United Kingdom) and Rita Domonyi (Hungary).

During the week, many guest experts will share their expertise. International publicist and marketing consultant Michael Arnon will give a lecture on film marketing, producer Juraj Krasnohorsky will answer the question How to pitch, Olga Zhurcenko will capture the listeners with a lecture titled Series Engine, while Corinne Destombes will share her knowledge on animation residencies. Ole Wendorff-Østergaard will tackle the topic of cash flow and financing landscape and at the very end of the week, director Marc Roels will have a masterclass, detailing his work, the stop-motion masterpieces like This Magnificent Cake!, Oh, Willy! and The House. All of the mentioned will be intertwined with intense group work, individual feedback sessions with experienced animation professionals and online screenings of participants and case study films.

The CEE Animation Workshop consists of 4 modules, balancing the online and on-site modules. The third module will take place in Bratislava, Slovakia in August, and the 5th edition of the CEE Animation Workshop will wrap up with an online module in November 2023.
