The Art of Cheating: Creating the Video Game Card Shark

Animation filmmaker, illustrator and game designer Nicolai Troshinsky will share the work process behind his videogame Card Shark, discussing ideas, philosophies, methods and, most importantly, many tricks and cheats.

He will reveal his own conceptual and technical tricks that have helped him achieve unique visual styles and find innovative ideas, as well as how he managed to stay focused, creative and motivated while working on big projects over long periods of time.

The masterclass is organized in collaboration with Primanima World Festival of First Animations (October 5-8, 2022).

Primanima is an international festival and competition of first animations, which is held every autumn in Budaörs. Its co-founders, Anna Ida Orosz and Tamás Patrovits, launched it in 2012 with the goal to provide a platform and opportunity for young animation talents to present their very first artworks, to build professional connections and join international networks. In this regard, Primanima fills a void not only in the Hungarian, but the European festival scene too.

Activity is supported by the International Visegrad Fund.
